The annual exhibition Young Danish Photography, has showcased emerging talents and trends on the Danish photographic art scene annually since 1998, in collaboration with a guest curator. This year, we have invited Dansk Dokumentarisme to curate the exhibition.

This year’s participants are: Frederik Brogaard, Rasmus Degnbol, Tilde Døssing, Signe Lægsgaard, Sofie Mathiassen and Sille Veilmark, Peter Nygaard and Anders Rye Skjoldjensen, Sund Vejle Fjord, Christian Falck Wolff.

Opening: 21 November, 5-7pm
Exhibition period: 22 November 2025 – 25 January 2026
Curator and photographers’ guided tour: 2 December, 5-6pm

This year's exhibition features works by eight photographers or groups. They all adopt individual strategies to explore boundaries while at the same time trying out new methods for documenting the impact of the climate and biodiversity crises and human exploitation of natural resources.

Based on the present ongoing crises this year's exhibition examines ways in which the complexity and often invisible phenomena of these crises, such as rising sea levels, air pollution, marine pollution, climate disasters, climate struggles, whaling and global warming, can be rendered concrete, visible and present through photography and video.

”With this exhibition we hope to celebrate a more nuanced and intelligent visual language capable of embracing the abstract and diffuse issues confronting us. This is, in our opinion, the overriding challenge facing documentary photography in the years to come.” says Dansk Dokumentarisme about this year’s exhibition.

About Dansk Dokumentarisme
Dansk Dokumentarisme consists of photographers Sigrid Nygaard and Emil Ryge. Through newsletters, podcasts and publications, including the journals New DanishPhotography #1 (2023) and New Danish Photography #2 (2025), the latter of which has just been launched, they report on new photographic work, relevant exhibitions and discussions about the photographic medium. They focus on documentary photography in the broad sense, covering both classic photojournalism and the work of Danish photographers who push boundaries and try out new methods.
